NARA
We at Nara are a small and young team of family and friends. Our passion for organic dates was born on many journeys through the Arabian world and the idea to import these fruits to Europe was born.
Since then we also develop our own products around dates. Today's assortment includes fresh, semi-dry and dry dates as well as our jarred versions with e.g. date chocolate cream, date syrup and date mustard or our chocolate dates and our date balsamic vinegar.
Why we are organic, sustainable and fair?
NARA grew up "eco" and our experiences have shown time and time again that organically sustainably grown food is of higher quality than conventional produce. However, we don't relate sustainability solely to our products, but also to fair prices for our producers and farmers!
We love friendly and enriching relationships with our partners, and we also enjoy working with people with whom we share the same passion for healthy food. Together we are already working on projects that will change farming methods, purchasing behavior and much more. We want to set standards with our approach to life and our values that will positively influence and change our society.
What does Nara mean?
We are often asked what the meaning of our company name "Nara" is. When we came up with the name, we came across several meanings, of which we liked the following best:
- Arabic: fire and burning
- Persian pomegranate (turn our logo upside down and see for yourself)
- Celtic: happy
- korean: country
- mongolian: sun
- japanese: oak tree
- english: the dearest
